Old World Libations finished its 2021 harvest recently with some help from our very own students at James Monroe High School! On Sunday, September 19th, Maggie Friend, Breezy Anderson,  Zoey Snider, Dr. Womack, and myself picked the last of the grapes for the winery. On Labor Day the previous week, Sydney Lawrence also helped pick grapes with Dr. Womack and other volunteers. Each day students completed about 4 hours of work picking and putting grapes into baskets for the vineyard to make into their wine. Breakfast was provided before picking, and lunch after. It was a fun day of rewarding work, and I hope this encourages other students to volunteer in their community.
